THE YACHT

A closer look at the Ketch 31M.

This custom 31 m sailing yacht was built in 2009 with an epoxy-laminated, cold-molded mahogany hull. She carries a schooner rig on two steel masts with 860 m² of sail area, excluding the gennaker, and has Harken manual winches. Beam is 7.5 m, draft 3.07 m, displacement 260 tons and gross tonnage 135 GT.

Accommodation for ten guests is in five cabins: a full-beam master aft, two double VIP cabins and two twin cabins. Two crew cabins are provided. The galley has a stove, oven, three fridges, a freezer and two dishwashers, and there is also a washing machine. Cool Mar air conditioning uses separate units for each area.

Twin 330 HP Iveco engines give a cruising speed of 9 knots at 1500 rpm, using about 30 litres per hour per engine, and a maximum of 11 knots. Fuel and fresh water capacity are 4,000 litres each. Two Cummins Onan generators of 27 kW and 22.5 kW, each with 1,000 hours, were overhauled in March 2022. Other equipment includes a Zero Salt 180 L/h watermaker, four solar panels, a Victron charger/inverter, Furuno navigation electronics, Class B AIS, two 150 kg anchors and a custom stainless steel electric davit for the Joker 4.60 m tender with a 60 hp Suzuki outboard.
