Cookie policy
Last updated
This page lists the cookies and similar browser storage our website uses, what each one keeps and for how long, and the choices you have. How we handle personal data in general is in our privacy policy.
Your choice
The first time you visit, a small bar at the foot of the screen asks whether you accept the tools listed below, under “Only if you accept”. Accept and Reject are equally easy, Preferences lets you decide for each purpose, and until you accept, none of these tools load. When you accept, we pass your choice to Google’s tools through Google Consent Mode, so that they follow it.
After you choose, a small button with a cookie on it stays at the lower left of the screen. That button, Cookie settings at the foot of every page and the button at the top of this page let you change or withdraw your choice at any time. If you withdraw it, the tools are told at once and no longer load, and we delete their cookies from our website. You can also delete cookies and site data in your browser’s settings; the bar then asks again.
Under Turkish law (KVKK) and the GDPR, we use analytics and advertising cookies only with your explicit consent.
The record of your choice. Each time you choose, we also keep a record of it as proof of your consent: the random consent id of your cookie choice (below), whether you accepted, rejected or chose in Preferences, your choice for analytics and for advertising, the version of these words, the page and its language, and the time the record reached us. It holds no name, no IP address and no country, and it is kept with our records on Google Workspace.
Always on
These items are needed for the website to work, or to remember something you chose. They need no consent and are never used for advertising. You can delete them at any time in your browser’s settings, which also empties your Shortlist.
Cookies
- Your cookie choice (
niyana-consent), so that we do not ask on every page. Our website sets it when you choose, whichever choice you make. It holds the version of the words you answered, your choice for analytics and for advertising, the time and a random consent id, and nothing that tells us who you are. It is a first-party cookie, set and read only by our website, and your browser sends it with your requests to our website (SameSite=Lax). It lasts 12 months; after that, or sooner if these words change, the bar asks again. - Security cookies from Cloudflare. Cloudflare, which hosts and protects our website, may set short-lived cookies such as
__cf_bmorcf_clearanceto tell people from automated traffic;__cf_bm, for example, expires after 30 minutes without activity. - Cloudflare Turnstile. When you start writing in one of our forms, Turnstile checks that a person is sending it, and may keep a small security item in your browser for that purpose.
Kept in your browser
These items use your browser’s local storage, not cookies. They stay on your device and are not sent to us, and each is kept until you change it or clear your browser’s data.
- The Shortlist, the yachts you save (
niyana-shortlist). They reach us only if you send us an enquiry from it. - Your currency and length unit (
niyana-units). - Light or dark mode (
niyana-proto-theme). - Whether the filter panel of the yacht list is shown or hidden (
niyana-index-rail). - When the newsletter window may open again (
niyana-newsletter): 90 days after you close it or sign up, or 7 days after it was only shown.
For this visit only
These items use your browser’s session storage. They stay on your device, are not sent to us, and are deleted when you close the tab.
- Your place in the yacht list, so that Back and a reload return you to it (
niyana-index-place). - The client quote chosen for your visit, so that it stays the same from page to page (
niyana-quote). - The address of the page you just left, for the page transition that carries a yacht’s photograph between the list and her page (
niyana-vt). - How many yachts you have saved during the visit, so that the short tips after your first saves are not repeated (
niyana-saves).
Only if you accept
Each of these tools loads only after you accept it. We load Google’s tools through Google Tag Manager, which sets no cookies of its own.
Analytics
- Google Analytics (Google) shows us how the website is used. Its cookies,
_gaand a_ga_cookie named after our Analytics property, last 12 months from the first visit. If you accept Analytics, Google signals may add aggregated information from people signed in to Google. We do not use it to create advertising audiences or personalise adverts.
Advertising
We use the advertising tools to measure our adverts, and build no advertising audiences from them.
- Meta Pixel (Meta) measures whether our adverts on Facebook and Instagram lead to visits and enquiries. Its cookies,
_fbpand, when you arrive from one of our adverts,_fbc, last about 90 days. - How you reached us (
niyana-landing), kept by our website in your browser’s session storage for your visit only: the first page you opened and how you arrived at it, such as the site that linked to it or the campaign reference in its address. It comes with an enquiry you send us, is deleted when you close the tab, and is removed at once if you refuse or withdraw advertising.
